Question 1

How do I enrol myself or my child for a lesson?

Accepted Answer

You can enrol via the enrolment form on our website. Choose the lesson you want to take, fill in your details and submit the form. We will then contact you within two working days to agree on a definitive time slot.

Question 2

Can I take a trial lesson before enrolling?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! We even recommend a trial lesson for anyone unsure which instrument suits them best. A trial lesson costs €35 and lasts 30-45 minutes. You get to know the teacher and the instrument without any further obligations.

Question 3

From what age can my child take music lessons?

Accepted Answer

That depends on the lesson. Music for Little Ones starts from birth (age 0), together with a parent or carer. Violin lessons are possible from age 3, piano and guitar lessons from around age 5–7. In doubt? Get in touch — we are happy to work out together what fits best.

Question 4

Do you also teach adults?

Accepted Answer

Yes, absolutely! We teach all ages. Whether you want to learn an instrument for the first time as an adult, or want to keep growing as an advanced player — our teachers adapt the lessons to your level and goals.

Question 5

How long does a lesson last?

Accepted Answer

You choose when enrolling: 20, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, or 60 minutes every other week. For young children (ages 3–6) we recommend 20–30 minutes. More time means more room for repertoire, technique and theory.

Question 6

Where are you located?

Accepted Answer

ConAnima Music Academy has two welcoming studios in Gouda: Turfsingel 31 and Lekkenburg 148. You can state a preference when enrolling. Some lessons are only offered at one location.

Question 7

Is there parking near the studios?

Accepted Answer

Parking is available in the area around the Turfsingel. Lekkenburg has ample parking right outside the door. Both locations are also easy to reach by bike or public transport.

Question 8

How much do the lessons cost?

Accepted Answer

Individual instrument lessons cost €120.51 per month (paid in 10 instalments) for a standard 30-minute lesson; a 20-minute lesson for ages 3–6 costs €83.95 per month. Group courses such as General Musical Education, Music for Little Ones and Eigenwijs Music start from €145 for 10 lessons. See the pricing page for the full overview.

Question 9

How do I pay for the lessons?

Accepted Answer

You pay the tuition monthly by bank transfer, before the first lesson of that month. Courses and the 10-lesson card are paid up front in one payment. After enrolling you receive a confirmation email with further payment details.

Question 10

Do you accept the Rotterdam Pas or another culture card?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We accept the Rotterdam Pas (Rotterdampas) for eligible participants. See our Rotterdam Pas page for more information about the discount and conditions.

Question 11

What if I want to stop or cancel my lessons?

Accepted Answer

A notice period of two months applies, starting on the first day of the month after the month in which you cancel. So cancel no later than the last day of the month by email (info@conanimamusicacademy.nl), phone or post. Separate rules apply to courses and the 10-lesson card — see the terms and conditions.

Question 12

How are the lessons taught?

Accepted Answer

All our teachers work in a personal, student-centred way. We adapt the lessons to your age, level, pace and musical taste. Classical pieces, pop music or your own songs — we respond to what you enjoy.

Question 13

Can I state a preference for a teacher?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can state a preference for a teacher on the enrolment form. We take this into account as much as possible, but availability may vary.

Question 14

What if I am not happy with the lessons?

Accepted Answer

Good communication is always the first step. Discuss your wishes or concerns directly with the teacher. If you cannot work it out together, contact the school management at info@conanimamusicacademy.nl. We take every complaint seriously.

Question 15

Do I need my own instrument?

Accepted Answer

For the first trial lesson and the taster course we have instruments available. For regular lessons you are expected to be able to practise on your own instrument at home. We are happy to advise you on a suitable instrument for your age and budget.

Question 16

What if I am ill or want to reschedule a lesson?

Accepted Answer

Send a message to your teacher as early as possible. Lessons you miss yourself are in principle not made up and are charged in full. If you have a 10-lesson card, cancel at least 48 hours in advance and we will look for a make-up slot together. If the teacher is absent, the lesson is normally made up. See the terms and conditions for the full policy.

Question 17

Do you also offer group lessons?

Accepted Answer

Yes! General Musical Education, Music for Little Ones, Eigenwijs Music and Painting to Music are all group lessons or courses. We also organise group activities for special projects and events.
